How to be Saved
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heaven and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. We know He will come according to His Promise. What is that which determines His Coming? Answer: He is not willing that any should perish, it is His longsuffering that determines His Coming.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved to give everlasting life, to all who believe in Him. He wishes all to be saved in the sense of having everlasting life (1 Tim 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. ). And by His death on the cross, He made that possible for all who simply believe in Him.
You receive the power/ right to become a child of God by believing in His name which is the same thing as believing in Him. [Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.] Believe in Jesus (the Person) for His promise of eternal life, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And when you do believe in His name you are "born of God": Born Again. Jesus, the One who did the work for you He is the one who guarantees you eternal life.
Upon believing Jesus for His promise of Life, you are united with Christ, Eph_5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For you to lose, by any means, the life He gives you means His life would have to be terminated for you to lose your eternal life. Eternal life and Everlasting life both mean forever.
When you believe the testimony of God about Jesus Christ, you are sealed by the Holy Spirit, "He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself; Â he that believeth not God hath made Him a liar, because he believeth not the record [What God said about Jesus Christ] that God gave of His Son.
you know that you are Born from Above when you believe on Christ for His promise of everlasting life. Also, you know it is the Holy Spirit that brings you to Christ
He is there for any person regardless of their spiritual condition. One day He stood amid the Pharisees and defended the woman who they said committed adultery, "…..Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. Many years ago, I preached a sermon, "Five Words that got her in, Neither do I condemn thee" He was not sent to condemn but to save, John 3:17-18;
He tasted death for every person, Hebrews 2:9, But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. {That you would never have to taste Spiritual Death]
From these verses, you know that you are Born from Above when you believe on Christ for His promise of everlasting life. Also, you know it is the Holy Spirit that brings you to Christ.
Salvation is not about us and what we have done or not done; it is about Jesus Christ and who He is and what He has done and what He promised us. We are not asked to believe a myth! We have the Word of God. We are not asked to make faith a work or to believe something into existence but rather to believe on Christ for God's offer of total forgiveness,
