Gems of Truth

The word snare reminds me of a song, "Altar of Prayer" one line says, "if you are caught in sin's wicked snare".  Saul laid traps for David but the Lord delivered him out of them all. These snares are unseen and may attack the body and mind.  from the noisome pestilence = deadly plague, I thought of Covid 19. And there are many other deadly diseases.
Here is an expression that allows us to feel His love and grace and His desire for closeness. It is like the Bridegroom who knocks at the door of the bride and seeks admittance,  Song of Son 5:2  "I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night".  Jesus Christ is the Bridegroom and we are the Bride
If there is not a hell to shun, then why did Christ die? If there is not a need for the preaching of the Cross, then why does the Word say, 1Co 1:18Ã'Ã'  For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
The Word of Life, is the Promise of life by Jesus Christ, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. He can make that promise because of Who He is and what He did,    I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
Jesus is at the door and He is knocking.Ã'  It is He the Son of God/The Son of Man. "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock". That is not just any door but the door of your mind, and the heart of your soul.
Why did the thief on the cross ask Jesus to remember him? He believed in Jesus as the one who could save him. "For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?" Rom 10:10 " For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Being saved is at the point of believing.  The word believe is used one hundred twenty-four times in the Book of John.  There was a time when believing was just believing but in this day it is believing plus surrender, sanctification, discipleship to receive the Gift of Eternal Life.  But that is not correct: the Gift of God is received by faith alone in Christ alone.   Surrender, sanctification, and discipleship are for the believer.
Faith in the promise of God ( a resting faith in His power and faithfulness), God has settled the matter in Christ fully and completely I John 5:9-13, i.e V 10 "He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son." John 3:16, John 6:47 and many more verses.
He deposited the message of His Salvation in our earthen vessels (bodies) broken by sin. And that message is the salvation we have.: Jesus is the Light of the World, He is the Anchor of the Soul. Christ is the Living Bread – He said which I will give for the life of the World, John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. He did give His body, See 1Co 11:23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: ( Paul is an Apostle – He saw Christ after Christ Resurrection and ascension )
Heb 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. It is impossible in the natural realm to think that God Himself would die for man the sinner but this He did in Christ The Son of Man, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain - The Leader as being The Way: He said I am the Way… Same as Author in Heb. 12:2 "…Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…"- of their salvation perfect through sufferings. He is the beginning and the ending, 1 Cor. 1:30. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
