If God is all-powerful, and He is all-powerful, then why does He not get everything He wants? In 1Ti 2:4 we find these words concerning our LORD:" Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth". You know from reading the Bible, that all people are not going to be saved.
The word "will" means His nature, desire, feelings. It does not mean a decree such as He willed the creation. In His Sovereignty, He allows you the opportunity to be saved " Who will have all men to be saved...., ". He will not make you do anything, but He will do everything possible to convince you to believe Him. Therefore, you by your choice will believe God or reject God's Word. That is God's intended purpose in creation: the freedom to chose. John 3:18. Because of His love for you, and His desire for you to be saved; He will do all that is possible to convince you to believe Him. But in the end, it is you that must believe Him.
Man cannot will himself saved. It is the Holy Spirit of God that enlighten the mind to see the truth, 2 Cor. 4:4-6, ".......For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." He said, " Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." Mat. 11:29. Read His word until you are convinced that you are in Him and He is in you, 1Jn 5:11 " And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son."
If you desire to know Him you can! It is only when we come to the end of our trying and in the quietness of our mind, we are able to hear/listen to Him. He wants you to rest in him. Matthew 11:28-30. If you come to Him as one who has no hope, He will give you the peace you need. If you try Him, He will pour you out a blessing. "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." John 1:12-13.
