" Grace is God's Provision"
(Gen 2:1) Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
(Gen 2:2) And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
(Gen 2:3) And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
He did not rest because He was tired but to declare that everything needed had already been supplied!
In every weekly Sabbath, the Children of Israel were to cease completely from all their labours as a reminder that all they needed was and is supplied by the Grace of God.
Every Saturday they would remember that they could not work for or earn God's grace, that everything they had and everything they would ever need had already been seen to. Gene Cunningham, The Basics
And every day we have God's promises for our supply, Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. We see here prayer in four ways:
1. By prayer Proseuchomai meaning to approach God face to face. When we go to Him in prayer we are saying: You can take care of us.
2. Supplication deesis. It is a prayer that recognizes a great need – it is asking for something.
3. Thanksgiving eucharistia the roots of this word is Charis meaning grace. In giving thanks we acknowledge everything comes from His grace.
4. Request from aiteo a word for petitions made to One who is Superior to us. When Philippians 4:6 is practiced the Peace of God can be experienced, Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
