Gems of Truth

Every Day Rest

By Pastor Roger Redmond
There is no mention of sin in the burnt offering and as our sin offering, He (Christ) becomes our burnt offering.  He makes our sacrifice of service, worship, and praise well pleasing unto the LORD, Phil. 4:18. Therefore as being in Christ, we are acceptable, Ephesians 1:6

"Every Day Rest"

Hebrews 4:4-9 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.  And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.  Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.   For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.  There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

We enter the Rest of God in Salvation by believing on Christ for eternal life, John 6:47.  We enter this rest – Every Day Rest- by believing what Christ said in John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.  If He won the Victory for me then I can rest in that victory:  the victory that He has already won for me.

In our study of the Burnt Offering, we found that Christ is acceptable to God, for He did always the things that pleased the Father.  His desire in His humanity was to please the Father, John 8:29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. Then the Father said, Mark 1:11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

In every pressure of life we can rest, enjoy the Peace of God, because of the Work of Christ, 1 Corinthians 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

Christ was given to you by God, John 3:16.  And HE (God) included you in all of the work accomplished by Christ.  Rest in Him!
