Matthew 28: 6,7 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

The angel said, see the place where the Lord lay, Mark 16:6 "…he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. Luke 24:12 "…..he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, John 20:6,7 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.
- Compare the resurrection of Lazarus, John 11:41-44 - i.e. v 44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
- Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life, John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
- He was gone before they rolled the stone, Just as he did not need anyone to unwrap Him He passed through the tomb. The tomb was opened for world to see. His body wasn't stolen – come see where He lay. See the linen cloth He was wrapped in and see the cloth that covered His face and head. Two separate pieces - And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. Notice still wrapped together. Not a dinner napkin. And the story that circulate around this time of the year about the folded napkin; seems to be a story that was generated by the internet
- Your sole authority is the Word of God.
I want to call your attention to the Word of God. His Word is Power, His Word is not broken, His Word cannot be broken. Psa_119:89 LAMED. = eleventh letter of the Hebrew alphabet) For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
- Psa_138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
- Heb 6:13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself
- Heb 6:17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
- Heb 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
- Psa 107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
- John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Read, Study and Meditate on God's Word
Psa_119:15 I will meditate in thy precepts. The full force of the Divine precepts is not to be grasped except by prolonged meditation on them. God's commandments are "exceeding broad" (Psa_119:96). And have respect unto thy ways; or, "consider them," "reflect upon them." Think often on them,
Isa. 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee
Psa_119:18 Open thou mine eyes. Since the Fall, men's eyes are naturally blinded, or, at any rate, have a veil over them, which God must remove before they can see clearly That I may behold wondrous things out of thy Law. Wonderful spiritual truths that lie hidden, even under the very simplest precepts of God's Law (See Mat_5:21-37)
He appeared several times after His resurrection.
He will upbraid you for unbelief Mark,16: 14
He is the Person of Salvation,
The first person to see Jesus after His Resurrection was Mary Magdalene, one He had saved and cast out seven devils, Mar_16:9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. (Several Mary's in the bible – this is not Mary Lazarus's sister who did not go to the tomb because she had a greater understanding , than even the disciples, John 12:1-7 . She understood the resurrection. That is why she anointed His body).
An understanding of Christ and His work is needed today for man has sinned and in need of a Saviour: Joh 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Joh 20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: Joh 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
It is significant that He appeared to her first for He came to save the sinner and the believing one is secure in Him, John 20:15-17, i.e. v 17) Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. The Resurrection started the accession – He was saying I am ascending , He was letting her know He was the same Jesus that had forgiven her sins but she would no more see Him as before, for He must ascend to the Father and send the Holy Spirit. A change in His ministry had taken place: she would now live by faith and not by sight. She would not know Him any more as in His earthly flesh but as her resurrected Saviour.
"My brethren" "….but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God." After His death and resurrection, He said, "my brethren". He came to be One liken to us, (The Incarnation of God), see Hebrews 2:14-18. We are indentified with Him in His death, burial and resurrection, 2 Cor 5:15- Romans 5:15 "…abounded unto many" that is any one who will believe they are one of the many. That is anyone who will say, from the testimony of scripture and the finished work of Christ, He is my Saviour.
Only through Christ can we says, "My Father." Until we are born again we are not of the LORD, John 8:41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. Joh 8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Joh 8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Joh 8:45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
We are One with Him
Heb 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
For it became him, It is impossible in the natural realm to think that God Himself would die for man the sinner but this He did in Christ The Son of Man, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain - The Leader as being The Way: He said I am the Way… Same as Author in Heb. 12:2 "…Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…"- of their salvation perfect through sufferings. He is the beginning and the ending, 1 Cor. 1:30.
Heb 2:11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
For both he that sanctifieth -That is Christ who Sanctified us - and they who are sanctified are all of one : for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, - them brethren are those who believed He sanctified them.
He identified with humanity as the Son of God, the Son of Man, Heb. 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he (Christ) also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Heb 2:15 [1]as Christ's death is our death, so His resurrection is our resurrection; "Who for them died and rose again." Your faith in Christ is imputed for righteousness, Rom 4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Rom 4:25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
He is the Bread of Eternal Life,
- Joh 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
- And He did give it. 1 Cor. 11:24 – 26 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
He is the nourishment of the inner man - He is your daily strength, Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Rom 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Rom 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Rom 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
You must believe on Him for eternal life. It is not a matter of how much faith or the right kind of faith. It just means your faith. In other words, you believe on Him with the faith you have. It is not a form or a prayer or a commitment you make it is the Person of Christ you believe.
