When you believe the testimony of God about Jesus Christ, you are sealed by the Holy Spirit, "He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself; Â he that believeth not God hath made Him a liar, because he believeth not the record [What God said about Jesus Christ] that God gave of His Son.
That One step is to believe in Jesus Christ for Eternal Life, “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Jesus is the Gift of God for you, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son,
That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
The written Word is the testimony of God about Jesus, “If we receive the witness of men, the witness
of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified [He shared with us] of His Son.”
+The witness of men is their word
+The witness of God is His Word
When you believe the testimony of God about Jesus Christ, you are sealed by the Holy Spirit, “He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself; he that believeth not God hath made Him a liar, because he believeth not the record [God’s story about Jesus Christ] that God gave of His Son.
This is what God hath said about His Son, “And this is the record[The record is what God has said] that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. You have the Son because God gave Him for you.
Jesus is yours’ to believe, “He that hath the Son hath life and he that hath not the Son hath not life.
+To doubt you have the Son is to say God’s Word about is Son is false.
+To believe on the Son, “He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself; ….” Is to be saved.
+There is no second step to the eternal life given in the Word of God.

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heaven and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. We know He will come according to His Promise. What is that which determines His Coming? Answer: He is not willing that any should perish, it is His longsuffering that determines His Coming.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved to give everlasting life, to all who believe in Him. He wishes all to be saved in the sense of having everlasting life (1 Tim 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. ). And by His death on the cross, He made that possible for all who simply believe in Him.

You receive the power/ right to become a child of God by believing in His name which is the same thing as believing in Him. [Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.] Believe in Jesus (the Person) for His promise of eternal life, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And when you do believe in His name you are "born of God": Born Again. Jesus, the One who did the work for you He is the one who guarantees you eternal life.
