In these days, there are many ways to heaven presented. Much preaching and teaching is adding to the Finished Work of Christ. The Bible warns us of this danger, Gal 1:8 "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed."
We hear things like this: you have to be baptized to be saved – I don't believe a Loving God will let anyone go to hell – You have to confess your sins to be saved – If you sin, after you are saved, you are lost - I know you must believe on Christ to be saved, and then you must not commit any real big sins - I believe in Jesus but don't know if I am saved. The Gospel of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ is the account of how He provided salvation for you. It is God expectation that when you heard the gospel of grace, you believe on Him for Eternal Life. Consider the Words of Scripture, Rom 4:24 "But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;" Rom 4:25 " Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification." Rom 5:1 "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:" That means you are justified by faith alone in Christ alone.
So the title of the message is really a question that you must consider: "Are You Justified by Faith"?
Now the word justified means, "To render or show someone just or innocent – In other words when you are justified you are just as if you had never sinned! Do we really think that is a condition which we can bring about? I don't think any rational person could reach that conclusion! God is the only one, who can declare you justified. Rom 4:16 "Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,".
The Gospel of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ is the record of God payment for your sin. Your sin was charged to Christ on the cross, 1Pe._2:24 " Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree…." Rom 4:25 " Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification…"
Christ will never die again for our sins, Heb. 1:3b "… when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;" He sat down to indicate it was finished.
What must you do to be saved? Believe the record: Rom 4:24 "But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;" Rom 4:25 "Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification." Rom 5:1" Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:"
You must give some thought to my question, "Are you Justified by Faith"? This is a question of examination. It goes to our standing before God. If we are justified, then we are justified by faith through our LORD Jesus Christ. There is no other way to justification except by faith in Christ. If you are saved, you are saved by faith alone in Christ alone.
