We have been redeemed by a Living Saviour, made alive whereas we once were dead, to a Living Faith that has Living Power. Therefore, we should be doing Living things.
The Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread teach us that Christ put away our sin, Purge out, therefore, the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1Co 5:7-8
The beautiful thing about this story is this, in spite of the false narrative they are putting forth by their unbelief; He was going to meet their need. But He wanted them to learn a great truth about Him and His provision not only for them but for all of the mankind. And that great truth is His Faithfulness to keep His Word to you.
Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 3:10-15, 2 Corinthians 5:10
Discipleship is a thoughtful decision made by counting the cost! Are you willing to pay the price is the question He asks? Luke 14:28-30. The point being made here is you are free to build if you want but it will cost you. So to save your life at the JSOC you must lose your life now. However, the choice is yours to make but expect suffering. It is not a good testimony to quit to not finishing, to not doing a good job. To be halfhearted is to fail. To quit is to lose your salt.
Most Bible teaching never distinguishes between the Salvation of the spirit and the Saving of your life. Salvation of the spirit is being born again / believing on Christ for Eternal Life. It is that which gives you a Home in Heaven, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph. 2:8-9
The Saving of your life involves works. Our works are on review at the Judgment seat of Christ. Works is what will impact our rewards. If the two salvations are not separated, it leads to confusion and misunderstanding in the Church

What is God's purpose for those who have believed
That we no longer live for ourself, "And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves,......" Only those who are saved have benefited from His death! Those who have been made alive by the quickening power of the N.B. In short, anyone who trusted Him as their Saviour, Eph. 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

In Christ dying on the cross, He died for all the world and thus His death counted as your death which death is demanded as payment for your sin. 1Pe_2:24 " Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."

In Christ God hath reconciled you to Himself, even though we were far away because of sin, He has made us nigh, 2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, if God did not impute (charge) your sins to you, then to whom were your sins charged?
Our life is the testing period for eternity. By the things we do now, we are in the process of making our life a blessing or wasting our life by indifference, slothfulness, and selfishness. What will it be? The choice is ours. Ephesians 5:1-10; 14-18. Would you fill your cup with your favorite drink and that cup tainted with a spoiled ingredient? Neither can you be filled with the Holy Spirit if you are full of that which is against God.
The Word of God divides Truth from Tradition. It divides the righteousness of God from Self-Righteousness, Luk_18:9-11 i.e. verse14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. It divides the earthly from the heavenly, Col. 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. The bible is able to give you the truth. It separates your thoughts from the temporal to the eternal, from earthly thinking to heavenly thinking. It gives you an understanding of the things of God.
