Don't lose the Prize …for the Pleasures of Sin for a Season Hebrews 3:7-19Today we should have a spirit of gratitude because of Christ. In exchange for what Christ has done for us, we should give Him our life. Illustration: In my childhood, during the time of snow we would get together and let one have a 10-minutestart (Now we lived in the country) and then the rest us would try to track them down in the snow. It got a little difficult tracking through the cow pastures and crossing the creeks – you had to follow the tracks. If you are going to capture the prize you must follow His steps. If you are going to capture then you must run the race.
Keep your eye on Christ, believe His Word, take His promises as your own. Make your decisions with faith in Christ. Remember there is no sin that can keep you from your Saviour. Your past made haunt you, your mistakes may cry out: you are hopeless, but Christ says, "I died for you." "Come let us reason togrther…." "Come unto me all ye…..from the heart of God His invitation travels to every corner of the earth, to every race, through every street, into every home and finds every person saying, I died for you and I have opened heaven for you: Heb. 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Heb 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
o "Before the angels blow their trumpets the prayers of the saints are offered. This is not an unrelated parenthesis. John means us to see that the prayers of God's people are supremely important"Morris, L. (1987). Revelation: an introduction and commentary (Vol. 20, p. 119). Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press.
o God stopped the sounding of the trumpets of judgment for the offering of the prayers of the saints, Rev. 8:3,4.

You may go to heaven: Without health, without wealth; Without fame, without a great name; Without learning, without earnings; Without culture, without beauty; Without friends and without ten thousand other things—But he can NEVER go to Heaven without Christ.
Christ is our anchor and He is there within the veil (in the presence of God for us, 6:19. He indwells us Eph. 1:13-14 and He is our advocate, 1 John 2:1-2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Our place in the future world to come belongs to those who continue on in the midst of trials, temptations, heartaches, and suffering. The Word of God says it best in 2Ti 2:11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 2Ti 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
Keep in mind Jesus said, "Ye must be born again". We are living in a time of uncertainty about most everything but to know you are saved is something you must be certain about. You must search for the truth until you know the Truth. Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 1Pe 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
"Likewise also the cup after supper……..": this phrase marks the distinction between the Communion Service and the eating of the full Passover Meal. Only Luke and Paul in 1 Cor. 11:25 record the difference
.
(25. when he had supped—Greek, "after the eating of supper," namely, the Passover supper which preceded the Lord's Supper, as the love-feast did subsequently. Therefore, you Corinthians ought to separate common meals from the Lord's Supper" [BENGEL]. Jamieson, R., Fausset, A. R., & Brown, D. (1997). Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible (Vol. 2, p. 285). Oak Harbor, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc.)
We are advised or instructed to bless the LORD, with all our life. Whether it is advice or instruction depends on who we are, Pro 13:1 A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke. A wise son follows his father's instruction but a son who mocks at instruction hears the instruction as a rebuke and receives it not.
We are admonished to prepare for the JSOC, 1Pe 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 1Pe 1:14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: 1Pe 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 1Pe 1:17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear
